Also, if you keep your boat at a marina, they will require you to have insurance. Most Home Owners Policies will cover your liability for a small vessel. I am in Cali, and do have insurance throught BOAT US. They not only provide insurance, but an on water towing/service feature. My costs for the membership is about $50 per year and my insurance for a 25' Sailboat is only $154 per year. They are much cheaper than AAA, Progressive, State Farm or any one else I checked with! GOOD LUCK!

No it inst.
But i do suggest Contacting your insurance.. and see if anything you tow with your vehicle is covered by your insurance (at least it is with ours)
(incase someone decides to rear end the boat..it should be covered since its attached to your vehicle)

To operate your Boat on most lakes you must have a boat endorsement on your auto insurance. On some private lakes, you have to have an additional rider on your home owner's policy.
